In this education market, it is clear that schools are competing on the basis of their ability to equip students for a future imagined to be unavoidably and increasingly globalized through the provision of “cosmopolitan cultural capital” (Igarashi & Saito, 2014).

Waiting, which media and government observers often read as apathy and disinterest, has become a noticeable strategy among young Bhutanese graduates.
